In late 2009, our Towne Lake Players gave their first performance in a brand new venue - downtown Woodstock. The holiday productions were a resounding success, and we soon forged a relationship with the City to work toward making downtown Woodstock our new permanent home.
Towne Lake Arts Center, with our eight year history as a successful arts organization, will serve as the umbrella nonprofit helping the City develop the Elm Street Cultural Arts Village and the new theater that will become our future home. But the Elm Street Cultural Arts Village is even more than a theater...
What Is It?
An innovative Cherokee County project to restore a century old farm home and surrounding property and convert it into a major arts, cultural and recreational destination in Cherokee County.
The Mission
To be a public, participatory arts and cultural center, promoting the visual and performing arts for all of Cherokee County.
Where Is It?
The site is on 4+ acres, just one block off Main Street – in the heart of downtown Woodstock. The location of the site is also adjacent to the proposed Greenprints Trail, providing ample access to the Village for both pedestrians and bikers using this new recreational trail system.
